$600 for a life-saving EpiPen? The pharmaceutical industry has been a target of criticisms for their prices. Costly drug research and development is commonly cited to be among the reasons for these high costs. To be sure, the lack of new tools that can streamline the research process is contributing to the plateauing rate of drug development output. We developed an application that can accelerate this part of the process by enabling researchers and health professionals to keep up with the latest research.
Our tool uses the latest technique in natural language processing to extract important information for the user. The user feeds our ML model with research papers of interest. It extracts features from these literature and outputs the relevant results into our website for the user to interact. With the time saved from reviewing literature, researchers and health professionals can focus on doing what is important to them. In the future, more features could integrated to the application that can further aid in decision-making.
